[Read: It’s a Butcher Shop] The concept behind The Chopping Block is an identity that combines the gruff and boorish personality associated with a quality butcher with the elegance of a French touch. These two contradictory elements results in the unexpected character throughout the brand of “unrefined elegance.”
[Read: It’s food packaging] The Faux Parisian is a food packaging set developed in response to the overworked, over ambitious, but over all, exhausted people of western culture. It provides the perfect ratios, of the perfect ingredients in one cohesive set. Complicated French recipes are uncomplicated, and result in flawless, effortless baked goods.
[Read: It’s costume packaging] The Mo’ Bros were developed to fill an apparently unfulfilled niche: emergency costumes. In a society which clearly has a fondness for costumes, costume packaging is a natural problem worth solving for any designer. Combine that with a society that adores a quick fix, and too often finds themselves overworked and out of time, and the result is clear: emergency costume packaging.
[Read: It’s a board game] Fables of Far Far Away is a redesign of the board game, Settlers of Catan. Fables of Far Far Away maintains the same archaic era, but takes the game in a more whimsical, magical, fairy tale direction. The game play was left intact, however the framing and interpretation of the objective were contorted sufficiently that they are seemingly entirely different goals.
[Read: It’s self promo] The purpose of the self-promotional project is twofold. As the title implies, it serves as a piece for personal promotion as a graphic designer (designed to be sent to potential employers). The less obvious purpose of this piece is to introduce ones self into the graphic design profession. As the final project before graduation, it has been used as an allegory to personal style.
[Read: it's a Festival Package] Cates Park Music Festival is a free festival put on by not-for-profit organization, MusArt. Local performers gather every weekend to provide summer entertainment to the public. Design requirements included a billboard, tabloid sized poster, two cd designs, jewel case design, and eight page booklet to accompany the CDs.
[Read: It’s a typography poster] Dial M for Margins typography conference poster was created to find a niche area of typography, and develop a potential conference concept. The tag line Masters of Type Meet the Master of Suspense, combined with the title and imagery results in a conference based around the typographic style that designer, Saul Bass, pioneered through Alfred Hitchcock’s films.
[Read: It’s a poster & postcards] The Vancouver International Film Festival promotional package was developed to publicize an upcoming film festival through a cohesive design set. Four direct mail postcards were created to compliment the poster. In visually rendering the concept statement “Body Language. What’s yours?”, specific body parts were selected to communicate through body language.
[Read: it's Print Marketing] Click Realty is an emerging web-based realty resource. Looking to set itself a part from other realty companies, a friendly, more approachable look and feel to the marketing campaign was adopted.
